Baka Pygmies – Life seen up close

In the several days I lived in this village, I was able to be in close contact with these people who, all together, form an extremely united community. They lead difficult lives but it is clear that their freedom and traditions are, for them, unquestionable.

Most of the photographs were taken with a monochrome Leica Q2.
Some color photos were essential to capture the formidable color palette around me as well.

Important note: If you look at the teeth of these populations you will notice that they are polished to a point shape. This operation on the body is considered a true canon of beauty.
