I was born and raised in a beautiful land rich in places and many languages and cultures.
Away from here
I started traveling at a very young age: over and under the sea. I was fortunate enough to literally travel around the world.

In recent years, after an existence that always looked at the lives of animals, I have become passionate about researching communities of individuals far outside from the world around me.

Just over four months have passed since the announcement of the long-awaited final journey to follow the ‘Great Migration’. That journey never took place.
At the end of December 2025, a few days before Christmas, Sonja passed away
due the incurable illness that had struck her in 2023.
This website, as well as the Instagram profile @sonjamarinsek, will remain active. They will be updated with new photographs and stories. Is, and will remain,
the best way to remember her.
